I don't think it is too much to ask. Most of the other free user modules resize the images proportionately, or a least will pull the thumbnail from CB. Why is superthumb the most customizable, but does not offer this basic feature which is present in much less customizable modules?

If you're asking me.

s4j modules www.software4joomla.com resizes thumbnails proportionally to the profile image. There are no "set" image height and width options. Not all profile images are in the same proportion, so obviously if UserA has a profile image that is 300x300 and UserB has a profile image that is 250x500, simply setting the module to display a image that is 100x100 is not acceptable. The module needs to resize proportionally to the original image size. If there is an option to set EITHER the height or the width that would be great, but requiring both distorts the original image.

If there is a solution to this please send me an email:

I was going to ask why you don't use the built in GD library functions of php when resizing the images to resize and resample them so they don't look all distorted . Free or not these functions are built into php and simple to program to take advantage of so there is no reason not to.

Would using this method also resolve the image quality issues, maybe?

Anyone have a hack for this, maybe? I might give it a go based on the info provided in this post, but I haven't done much PHP programming. Thanks!
