Screen scrape 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I am trying to add a nameserver that can't be directy queryed like a normal whois server. I have made a script to screen scrape the whois results but i don't now how to configure this script in tpwhois. I guess i have to simulate a fake whois server but i have no idea whre to start.

I can see there is no official support for this component, maybe because is free, but I a m willing to pay for the solution of this problem.

thanks.

When rolling over the info tooltip for the field "Custom Query Address & Port (advanced)" an example is shown: www.[SERVER]]:80/whoislookup.cgi

However I am still not sure how the J!whois querys the server so i don't know how to pick up the DOMAIN variable in my scraping script.

any help? thanks.

After several hours of frustration i decided to go try the original EP-Dev.com script and it worked perfectly. It wasn't even latest version, it was 2.22.

So, what's the EP-Dev.com whois version this script is based on?? how could try to upgrade/troubleshoot this?

thank you.

It seems that this component is based on a very old version of EP-Dev Whois (www.ep-dev.com)

since the original developer J!factory does nos exist any longer i don't see any chance of this component being upgraded.

I hope I'm wrong.

you are welcome but could you tell me if there is a plan to update the extension to fix the bugs and include the new features of the latest version of the original script?

thanks again.
