I FOUND OUT WHY!!!

you need to use instead of a image from some other random link...

if you upload the photos you want into the folder (stories) etc, and choose the image in the control panel, everything works perfectly fine

Then you should set the Show Thumbnail option to "Hide" on your minifp module parameter...
