Hi guys,
I just revamped a gaming site I put up last year but did nothing with because I couldn't find a good professional template. Now that I am a member of the club, I am finding that I am revamping many of my Joomla sites, plus converting others to Joomla.
Before you take a look though, I wanted say that I am looking into monetizing the site better but haven't gotten around to it yet. It is a work in progress.
I did manage to set up a couple of other scripts I own so the site has more features. One of them is a "Power Search" or Seach Engine that brings up keyword phrase results. The other is A different type of feed script that isn't a component, but does offer a way to show html, php, or RSS feeds anywhere on the site.
The site is also just starting to get members.
Here are the mani details:
Site name: gamedome4u.com
Owner: Mary Murtha
Subject: Gaming - Video, computer, and Flash games
Created with TP template: 2008
URL: www.gamedome4u.com
About: This is a community based site complete with forum and blog that offers information about video games, Computer Games, Game reviews, Gaming guides, Tips, free flash game section, and more!
Components Used: FirsBoard, JD WordPress, Community Build, Frontpage Slideshow, Docman, JACLplus, Mossests Tree, and all the components that came with the GamingPlazza template.
Modules used: I cannot rmember at this point. I know I have 2 custom Modules on this site. One is on the front page. The other modules are basically the ones that came with the template.
The other moduels I mentioned above. A different type of Search Engine that can either be set up by keywords, and make pages on the fly, or a search box. I use both on this site.
The other added custum module was created to show feeds.
Additional Information: We are giving 1 game away free each month to encourage forum posting, and guide submissions.
If you guys have any suggestiones, I'd appreciate hearing about them. Please feel free to suggest changes or additions.
Btw, I do like this forum and membership.
Thanks, and all the best ...
