Mini Front Page PRO Cache Image

Hello, I'm using the mini front page pro with the collage layout. When I publish an article with an image, everything is fine, he seeks the first image of the article as a minuature.

It turns out that in the future I need to update this article with a new intro image, but the thumbnail does not update, the old one remains. How can I solve this?

I have already disabled the module cache and deleted all thumbnails in the folder.

Thanks.

    Hi mliell,

Simply delete all images inside the folder /images/thumbnails/mod_minifrontpagepro then the thumbnail will be regenerated next time the module is loaded.

Are you sure you have cleared your browser cache?

Yes, I deleted all the images in the folder, and opened the site in an anonymous tab in the browser, and cleared the entire cache, but it always generates the old image that doesn't even exist anymore. What could be happening? Any other conflict plugin?

Ex: images/thumbnails/mod_minifrontpagepro/15190_148.jpg - I deleted this image, and it generates the same thumbnail, but that image no longer exists. It should generate from the current image of the article.

Sounds like a cache related to me. How did you delete the image? Did you use FTP or delete it from the media manager?
Anyway, can you share temporary access to your website so I can have a look on it directly? If you can, you can share it in the Your Site Details tab below. Only you and support staffs who are able to see it.

Hi, I experience the same problem: changing the image in an article doesn't regenerate the thumbnail. I use the image introtext on the tab images and links. Besides that, I don't want to clear the thumbnails everytime an image changes, that's not user friendly. Even though, I need a hard refresh in the browser after clearing the folder before I see the changes reflected on the website.

And my webmaster is an old, little bit weird guy who's not willing to do this everytime :D.

ps: if you need access, let me know.

You wouldn't edit article's image that often right? Thumbnail is saved to the cache folder in purpose to reduce server load because generating thumbnail on the fly will increase server load.

Hi, I deleted it via the media manager (in my case: JCE Pro).

Yeah, I understand your consideration about server load. And no, it doesn't happen very much. But when a change is committed to a specific article (changed the image used in minifrontpagepro), at that point I'd like the thumbnail used in minifrontpagepro to be regenerated. That way, it's just on the backend site when saving an article and not every time someone loads the website.

Maybe you could hook up the event when an article changes, and at that point regenerate the thumbnail?

Ok guys, I'm going to do some tests to measure the impact of adding auto update thumbnails to the load. Hopefully it's not too big so I can add it. Please stay tuned.

Hi, this seems to work. Now we can change images used by MiniFrontPage without clearing the thumbnails every time, which saves a lot of time!

    Thanx!
