Quick portfolio

Installed module successfully, admin page works fine, creates thumbnails, updates data files. Page loads with hidden preload images and script in the correct position. Problem is the thumbnails dont get displayed? Any thoughts, is this a java issue maybe? I setup ten images. A few of them have titles and descriptions which also are written to the page source but not displayed.

I must be missing something simple.

    Yes that is correct. Is there a way to get email alerts for response updates? I will be unable to monitor responses regularly over the next week but I would like to resolve this quickly. If not.. no biggie but im just curious. I will check tomorrow as soon as possible for any other questions. Since I will be adding the various galleries in several areas of the site, it is kind of important to get this fixed or I will have to put the site offline temporarily. I don't want to draw traffic to the crippled version of the site. Thanks in advance. PS.. I thought i saved the site in the site details below but it doesn't seem to have saved it.

    Ah, yes, you forgot to enter the username and password so the site details doesn't show up.

    Did you mean to get an email notification everytime a new reply posted on this forum? If so, yes you should get a notification email everytime a new post made on this thread. Maybe it's thrown to your email spam folder?

    Anyway, about the gallery problem, I have visited your website but no content is published there. Can you explain me the problem in a bit more detail?

    No.. there are several positions available so i used a separate one to post a message until we get this one working. If the gallery was displaying correctly, it should come in right below that message. It is contained in a div with css class "media".

    Unlike your Slider extension, this one doesn't appear to have an option to load it in the module.. what do i need to do to load JQuery for this module?

    // check Joomla version for jquery load
    JLoader::import( 'joomla.version' );
    $version = new JVersion();
    if (version_compare( $version->RELEASE, '2.5', '<='))
    {
    $loadJQuery = (int) $params->get('loadJQuery', 1);
    if( $loadJQuery == 1 ) {
    $doc->addScript({path}/jquery-1.8.2.min.js');
    } elseif( $loadJQuery == 2 ) {
    $doc->addScript('http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js');
    }
    } else {
    // call jquery lib - ensure this is called first before another jquery plugins - schro
    JHtml::_('jquery.framework');
    }

    Can i use a form of this and just get rid of the IF statement and force it to load either the google installation or the jquery that I am using from the responsive banner? Throw this in the php file and call it done?

    I know just enough to get myself in trouble however I try to avoid these issues by purchasing the software. :) its late. Till tomorrow. Thanks for the assistance.

    Ahh you were using Joomla 2.5 that is not loaded jquery by default.

    Ok, can you try to open the file root/modules/mod_quickportfolio/mod_quickportfolio.php and add this code :
    // check Joomla version for jquery load
    JLoader::import( 'joomla.version' );
    $version = new JVersion();
    if (version_compare( $version->RELEASE, '2.5', '<='))
    {
    	$loadJQuery		= (int) $params->get('loadJQuery', 1);
    	if( $loadJQuery == 1 ) {
    		$doc->addScript($modulebase.'assets/jquery-1.8.2.min.js');
    	} elseif( $loadJQuery == 2 ) {
    		$doc->addScript('http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js');
    	}
    } else {
    	// call jquery lib - ensure this is called first before another jquery plugins - schro
    	JHtml::_('jquery.framework');
    }

    at lines 16, after the code
    $app = JFactory::getApplication();
    Please let me know if this solve the problem or not

    It still doesn't seem to be resolved. I have done as you requested and also reopened and saved the module even though aim fairly sure that only runs the admin php script. I have attached the php file that I believe is current (pulled it from dreamweaver). Let me know what else I need to do. Thanks.

    // check Joomla version for jquery load
    JLoader::import( 'joomla.version' );
    $version = new JVersion();
    if (version_compare( $version->RELEASE, '2.5', '<='))
    {
    $doc->addScript('http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js');
    } else {
    // call jquery lib - ensure this is called first before another jquery plugins - schro
    JHtml::_('jquery.framework');
    }

    I replaced the first attempt with what you suggested and now i get these image loading graphics but it never actually loads completely on full screen. When the screen is minimized a bit or on smaller devices then it does display thumbnails and full size graphics but the interface is not very user friendly. Not sure whats happening with it. I may have to venture to a more feature rich module or rewrite the array since the layout needs alot of adjusting. Take a look and tell me if its supposed to look and feel this way or if something is still wrong.

I got alot going on in the next 48 hours so i may not have the time. Please leave ticket until I can revisit. I will update in another post and we can go from there. Hopefully i can just call it resolved. Thank you for your assistance.
